2020 Louis Jadot Gevrey-Chambertin Cotes de Nuits
Winemaker Notes: This is an elegant and powerful red wine with classic big cherry fruit coupled with truffle and brown spice notes over a long and complex finish.
Vinous - "The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Village has a light, slightly earthy bouquet that needs a little more vigour. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins, fleshy red berry fruit I with an easygoing, quite seductive finish. Fine. (88-90pts)"
Wine Spectator - "A rich, square-shouldered red, this boasts black cherry, earth and spice notes backed by lively acidity and light tannins, with a hint of woodsy underbrush. Shows moderate length. Drink now through 2030. 1,000 cases made, 500 cases imported."
Burghound - "Here the wood treatment isn't subtle as there is plenty of menthol character to the wild dark berry aromas that are laced with soil tones. There is excellent vibrancy and again, very good detail to the acceptably concentrated and delicious flavors that exhibit only average depth on the somewhat attenuated finish. This moderately structured effort is attractive in its fashion, but the balance isn't quite dialed in as well as it could be. (87-89pts)"
