2020 Chateau Marjosse Bordeaux

Winemaker Notes: Every year, technical and cultural improvements are made in order to offer a superior quality in each vintage. In 2015, we have further reduced the volume of the harvest (through green harvesting and a stricter selection of berries) in order to gain in precision and quality. Chateau Marjosse is the personal vineyard of the famed Pierre Lurton, managing director for Cheval Blanc and d'Yquem! Grandson and son of a winegrower, he has at heart to enhance the value of a terroir from which he originates and which he still lives in today, that of the Entre-deux-Mers.

Merlot (80%), Cabernet Franc (10%), Cabernet Sauvignon (6%) and Malbec (4%)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2020 Marjosse comes barreling out of the glass with rambunctious scents of cassis, crushed blackberries and black plum preserves, followed by hints of dark chocolate, anise and tar, plus a fragrant waft of lavender. The medium-bodied palate is soft, juicy and wonderfully refreshing, delivering wonderful poise and expression with a fun burst of pure black fruit on the finish. Delicious! (91-93pts)"


Decanter - "A touch of reduction on the nose which clears as it relaxes in the glass. This is well put together, has definition and finesse, and is punching above its weight in the appellation. Ambitious, well managed tannins and juicy red fruits; 2% Malbec completes the plantings. I don't have the 2020 blend."


James Suckling - "This shows notes of ripe berries, vanilla, licorice, crushed walnut and cocoa. Medium-bodied with ripe, supple tannins and a creamy texture. Fruit-forward and flavorful."
