2020 Chateau Marjosse Blanc Bordeaux
Winemaker Notes: Every year, technical and cultural improvements are made in order to offer a superior quality in each vintage. In 2015, we have further reduced the volume of the harvest (through green harvesting and a stricter selection of berries) in order to gain in precision and quality. Chateau Marjosse is the personal vineyard of the famed Pierre Lurton, managing director for Cheval Blanc and d'Yquem! Grandson and son of a winegrower, he has at heart to enhance the value of a terroir from which he originates and which he still lives in today, that of the Entre-deux-Mers.
CRITICAL ACCLAIM
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - "Comes skipping out of the glass with vibrant notes of lime leaves, grapefruit and crushed rocks, giving way to emerging notions of green apples, dill seed, and fresh hay. The medium-bodied palate delivers a great intensity of herbs-laced citrus flavors, supported by a racy backbone and finishing long and chalky. (89-91pts)"
Decanter - "Typically aromatic nose, herbal and grassy with tropical and citrus elements. Succulent, softly mouthwatering with a weight and density from the oak ageing that also gives a slightly spiced edge to the peach, pear, nectarine and apricot fruit. Fresh and full-bodied, structured and complex."
James Suckling - "Plenty of sliced-apple, peach and lemon character with a medium body, fresh acidity and a clean, vivid finish. Energetic and ready for the beach!"
