2016 Antoine Jobard 'Charmes' Meursault
CRITICAL ACCLAIM
Burghound - "Strong reduction renders the nose unreadable today. On the plus side there is outstanding richness as well as an abundance of dry extract suffusing the sappy medium-bodied flavors that are opulent yet focused on the reasonably refined finale. This should be accessible young but age effortlessly over the course of the next decade. 91-94 pts"
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - "The 2016 Meursault 1er Cru Charmes comes from two parcels, the lower one touched by frost, so that the production is a modest 15% down. It has a pleasant reduction on the nose, well defined however, with good intensity. The palate is very well balanced and is bestowed the richness one expects from this vineyard, counterbalanced by a saline thread that governs the second half. An interesting wine predestined for aging, this is one of the best wines from Antoine Jobard in 2016. 91-93pts"
