Winemaker Notes: A red blend of Sangiovese, Sagrantino and Montepulciano from Umbria in Central Italy. A rich, red wine filled with dense, wild berries and chocolate.
One of the oldest wineries in Montefalco, Azienda Agricola Paolo Bea is run by a family whose roots go back to the 1500s. Producing traditional, earthy Montefalco wines, Paolo Bea is one of the leading estates of the appellation. This is a dense but rigorous wine, a forceful wine but one that has an athletic structure and exhibits excellent balance and length. Bea's Sagrantino is charged with abundant notes of wild berries and plums and is layered with a multitude of spices, herbs, and notes of game.
