This tasting will be an eye-opener, revealing “gorgeous living soils, organic viticulture, and precise winemaking.” De Maison Selections imports exceptional, artisanal European properties with a unique cultural stamp. Fearless innovation is at the heart of these independent artisans who are De Maison’s trusted friends. We’ll taste complex Vintage Cava that exceeds Champagne’s ageing requirements by a long shot; Txakoli from Basque country, an electric shock of freshness; benchmark floral Albariño from the far reaches of Galicia; three very different Riojas, including a Gran Reserva, all from the northern zone of Alavesa, emphasizing terroir and deep fruit quality versus the traditional oxidative style; Priorat using only native varieties, Cariñena and Garnacha, at an accessible price point; and two pioneering Garnachas - a quaffer from Valencia on the Mediterranean coast of eastern Spain, blended with Syrah, and an old vine rendition from the Sierra de Grados mountains of central Spain. There may be some additional surprises depending on availability. Our fast friend Anthony Minne, a Plum alum and our De Maison ambassador will provide personal experience and fun facts!
